POP! Parents of Preschoolers Tuesday, May 2, 11:00 am-noon Birth-Age 5 w/adult"Smile!" Teach your child how to take care of their teeth at an early age. Dr. Victoria Ursitti from All About Kids Dentistry understands that all children are unique. She will offer you expert advice on cavity prevention and educate you on children's dental care. Parents attending this program may bring their young children for a supervised playtime while the group is meeting. Register.

Read to Rover Wednesday, May 3, 6:15-7:45 pm Grades 1-5Read to man’s best friend! Here’s your chance to read to two great listeners, Murphy and Gracie. Each child will have 15 minutes of one-on-one reading time with a dog. Murphy and Gracie are certified through Therapy Dogs Inc. Please register for one 15-minute session.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten1000 Books Before Kindergarten is a Library program that encourages all families and caregivers to read at least 1000 books with their young children before they enter Kindergarten. Reading to preschool-age children builds vocabulary, language skills, and helps prepare them with the skills they need for Kindergarten. In as little as 15 minutes a day, families can build the skills for future school and life success. Register in the Youth Services Department and earn prizes along the way!

Read Down Your Fines Grades K-8 Do you have overdue fines on your library card? Now you can read those fines away. Prospect Heights Public Library wants to promote reading. The Read Down Your Fines Program is intended to help children reduce their outstanding fines so they can continue to use their library card without interruption. The Program encourages and promotes reading among our young people. There are no restrictions on what you can read. Patrons’ kindergarten through grade 8 can participate in this program. Young adults may also read to or with younger children and both of you can get credit for the time. Stop by the Youth Services desk to find out more.

100 Books Before High School Grades 5-8 100 Books Before High School is a Library program that inspires reading. Participants receive a reading reward after every 20 books and a free book after 100. Hurry into the Library today to register in the Youth Services Department.

Reading Patch Club Birth-Grade 8 Register in Youth Services for the coolest club in town! Earn awesome patches by reading books or listening to someone read to you. Register in Youth Services beginning Thursday, September 1. BUGS! is our new Reading Patch Club patch for the school year.
