Have You Heard Of The Newberry Library's Modern Manuscript Transcribing Project? The Newberry Library is allowing volunteers to transcribe material from the 19th & 20th Centuries to make it more searchable online. Some of the items included are letters, diaries and journals involving people here in the Midwest, Native Americans and Western Expansion. Items are transcribed, then sent on to be proofread and prepared for public use. Take a look as this exciting opportunity.

Family History Research In Illinois & Wisconsin April 23 @ 7pm Join us as genealogist Maureen Brady examines the similarities between Illinois and Wisconsin family history resources, and then looks at the unique records of each state, including ethnic, religious and governmental archives and repositories. The discussion will also include a brief review of the history of this part of the "Old Northwest", and how that history has impacted the records which were created.
