Sunday, August 5. 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Stop by the library for Family Fun Day at the Annual Book Sale. Meet Laura O’Grady, the Library Director, and join in the fun with Libraries Rock themed games, crafts and activities for all ages. Included will be a bounce house and FREE ice cream at Sweet Daugs ice cream truck during the afternoon. Friends Family Fun Day is a free event sponsored by the Friends of the library, and is a great opportunity to sweep up some fantastic book sale bargains at the same time! No registration is required. The whole family is welcome. We look forward to seeing you there.

Rock the Fort Saturday, August 25. 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. When the library closes at 3 p.m., families may use materials from home to create reading forts in the library. Name That Tune Rock & Roll Bingo: adult summer reading program is for anyone 18 and older. Please pick up a game board at the front desk. Read more. Receive a FREE book on completion, and earn raffle tickets to be entered into a draw for prizes generously funded by the Friends of the library. Ends August 31.

REGISTER for Summer Quest for kids ages 0-17. Registration is by age group. You may also register in person at the library. Teens ages 13-17 are invited to participate in Teens Rock. Prove libraries rock by reading great books and trying out our mini-challenges available at the Children’s desk or on the YA website. Ends August 24.

Join Summer Quest at Shank Park, a collaboration between the Hershey Public Library and the Derry Township Parks & Recreation Center. Pick up a game board at the library and follow a walking trail around Shank Park, located at Bullfrog Valley Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036. At Shank Park, use your game board to search for animal images in the children's fairy tale classic, The Bremen Town Musicians by the Brothers Grimm. Ends August 21. For those who completed their game boards, come to a special screening of the movie "The Bremen Town Musicians" on Wednesday, August 22 at 6:30 p.m. Your completed page of rubbings is your ticket!
