Tuesday, July 24 at 1:00 p.m. American Dance: From Africa to Broadway. Explore how American dance evolved from its African roots and European influences into the popular stage and social dances that we see today. Two versatile performers take you from classical court dances and the Irish reel, to vaudeville, tap, and even the cultural impact of Michael Jackson – all of this and more is packed into this highly entertaining and informative perspective on American history. Play Day for FamiliesFriday, July 13 and July 27 at 10:00 a.m. Families with children ages 3-5 are welcome to register for an hour of center-based free play that encourages children and their adults to engage in the five practice of Early Literacy: talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing. Second Saturday "Do You Measure Up?" Saturday, July 14, 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Families with children ages preschool and up, register for an hour of play, stories and activities with Jackie Sisco. SUMMER QUEST FOR ALL AT SHANK PARK
|
|
Join Summer Quest at Shank Park, a collaboration between the Hershey Public Library and the Derry Township Parks & Recreation Center. Pick up a game board at the library and follow a walking trail around Shank Park, located at Bullfrog Valley Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036. At Shank Park, use your game board to search for animal images in the children's fairy tale classic, The Bremen Town Musicians by the Brothers Grimm. Summer Quest ends August 21.

SUMMER QUEST & TEENS ROCK
|

REGISTER for Summer Quest for kids ages 0-17. Registration is by age group. You may also register in person at the library. Teens ages 13-17 are invited to participate in Teens Rock. Prove libraries rock by reading great books and trying out our mini-challenges available at the Children’s desk or on the YA website. Summer Quest and Teens Rock ends August 24.

ADULT SUMMER READING PROGRAM

Name That Tune Rock & Roll Bingo Anyone 18 and older may join the program. Please pick up a game board at the front desk. Read more. Receive a FREE book on completion, and earn raffle tickets to be entered into a draw for prizes generously funded by the Friends of the library. Ends August 31.

Join the star-ship crew to battle aliens and explore space through our state of the art audio video system. Suitable for anyone aged 14 and older.
