September is Sign Up for a Library Card Month

Current cardholders, pick up a flyer at the library to enter a drawing to win a prize. Simply recruit a new card holder, write your name on the flyer and give to your friend (the new card holder) to bring it in to be added to the raffle box when they get their library card. Both you and your recruit may enter the drawing.

Books & Babies Mondays from September 14 to November 16. 10:00 am to 10:30 am. Join us on the library’s Facebook page for Books & Babies! Families with pre-walking babies (birth-12 months) can share songs, simple stories, nursery rhymes, and action plays. No registration required.

Storytime Thursdays from September 17 to November 19. 10:00 am to 10:30 am. Join Ms. Rita on the library's Facebook page for a virtual storytime perfect for your preschooler. For children age 3-5. The video will remain on the library’s Facebook page until the following week.

Now Submit! An Introduction to Publishing Your Writing Sunday, September 13. 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Join us as we discuss reasons to publish and answer some preliminary questions about the process of submitting creative work. Open Mic in the Reading Garden We are looking for young musicians to entertain us in the Reading Garden at the Hershey Public Library on October 9 and 23 starting at 7:00 pm. If you sing, play an instrument, or write poetry we hope you share your talents. This is a family friendly event and performed material should reflect that fact. If you have questions or would like to participate please contact either Rita Smith or Aly Tran at the Hershey Public Library. We will be asking everyone in attendance to practice social distancing and to wear a mask. We will provide a Mic, speaker and power. Performers will need to bring anything else they require to perfor. REGISTRATION DATES: For the October 9 date, performers need to register by September 29. Labor Day Weekend - CLOSED
Monday, September 7, the library is closed all day. We will re-open at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 8. Expanded Saturdays hours begin on September 12 when we will be open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
