Have a project collecting dust? Too many distractions at home? Just want a change of scenery? Or maybe you need a little crafty advice? Join fellow postponers at the Central Library and let's do this. Patrons are encouraged to use this as dedicated time and space to complete or make progress on personal craft projects that keep getting pushed to the bottom of the to-do list. While the library will provide basic supplies like tape, glue, scissors and writing utensils, please be sure to bring your own special materials specific to your project, if necessary.

Harvest Moon Paint Class

With the autumnal season soon arriving, create an eye-catching painting for your home. Paint a nighttime nature scene with a harvest moon. This free acrylic painting class will focus on shading and blending. Our guest instructor is Robin Knight. Bring your supplies (paint, brushes, and canvas not smaller than 11 X 14 inches) or use the ones provided. The class is sponsored by the Friends of the Walkertown Library. The first meeting of the Malloy/Jordan Cook Book club will be on Tuesday, September 10, at 6 p.m. in the small conference room. For our first meeting we will be discussing West African dishes. The cook book club is open to everyone 16 and older. Registration is required.

Walkertown Library Community Garden [Ongoing and dependent on plot availability] Walkertown Branch Library The Walkertown Community Garden brings together a diverse group of people from young children to retirees. Nearly thirty gardeners ranging from individuals to large families have plots in the garden. Please call the library at 336-703-2900 or email walkertownlibrary@gmail.com to be placed on the community garden wait list. While there are no plans at this time to expand the garden, a limited number of plots open up each year. There is a $20 yearly fee per plot to cover water usage.
