NaNoWriMo Weekly Write-Ins

Walkertown Branch Library
National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) takes place each November and encourages writers to knock out a 50,000-word manuscript during the month. It's an intense time for those participating, and we are here to help foster our community writers’ creative endeavors with space, snacks, and helpful hints. We are offering two weekly write-in sessions every week in November. Pick the day and time that works best for you and come get some serious writing done. Mondays at 10 a.m. and Wednesdays at 5 p.m. throughout the month of November.

Level Up: An Adult Gamer Society
First and Third Tuesday, 6 p.m.

Join us at the Central Library every first and third Tuesday of the month for the Level Up: Adult Gamer Society. This is an 18+ program where you can bring your games, your friends, or just yourself, and play an array of games including a PS4, Nintendo Switch, tabletop games, card games, board games and more. Tai Chi

Join us at Central Library for Tai chi. Tai Chi is a form of gentle exercise, a method of moving meditation and a means of cultivating health and well-being. Tai Chi is suitable for all ages and abilities so it's never too late to start. Classes will be held in the Central Library Auditorium or outside on the lawn depending on the weather. Made With Clay: Native American Pottery

Many Native American groups made pottery. Looking at examples from the Lam Museum of Anthropology’s collections participants will learn about the styles, usages, and pottery making traditions of the Cherokee, Catawba, Hopi, and other Southwest peoples. Creating Oral Family Histories

Learn how to record your family's history by using interviewing and recording techniques on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 11 a.m. at the Lewisville Branch. Documenting your genealogy in print is important but we often forget about the oral histories that we pass on from generation to generation. Using today’s widely available recording technology, Grace May, special collections librarian from the North Carolina Collection at the Central Branch, will be on site to show you how to record your family history through interview techniques and storing audio.
