Greek Mythology: July 5 & 7 Tuesday, July 5, 10:30 - 11:30 pm: Ages 6-8 Tuesday, July 5, 2:30 - 3:30 pm: Ages 9-12 Thursday, July 7, 10:30- 11:30 am: Ages 9 - 12 Thursday, July 7, 2:30 - 3:30 pm: Ages 6 - 8 Library Program Room This week we will be diving into Greek Mythology! The myths of the ancient Greek civilization are some of the most timeless in the world. They are filled with action, thrills, and adventure. Join us as we open Pandora box and discover some of these stories!
Registration required. Each session will be the same, but adjusted for age the groups, this will allow for smaller groups and more opportunities for children to attend.

Let's Talk Science! Monday, July 11 11 am- 12 pm or 1 - 2 pm Ages: 6 - 9 Library Program Room Let's Talk Science is back and in person! Break out your detective skills as we examine different types of skulls! Yes, you heard that right! Skulls! We will be exploring the difference between a herbivore, carnivore and omnivore. BIAK EarlyON Monday, July 18 10:30 am All ages Rotary Room (or outside if the weather is nice) BIAK (Bonnechere Inòdewiziwin Abinòdjìnjish Kikinàmàgan) EarlyOn Providing Indigenous and Algonquin teachings, Algonquin language, crafts, storytelling, and drumming. They provide activities, games and stories for youth, parents and educators about Indigenous peoples’ culture, history and languages. Drumming and singing with the Kichi Sibi Women Drummers is encouraged by all using children’s drums provided by the BIAK EarlyON.

Teen Reading ChallengeStarts July 4 - Ends July 29 (Draw will take place on the 30th) Ages 13-18 Reading for ballots! Every hour completed is a ballot in the jar. At the end of the month a name will be drawn for special prize. Let’s make this summer an adventurous one, all from the comfort of wherever you want to read. Pick up your tracker at the front desk.

Disney Scene-It Night Wednesday July 6 3:30-5:00 pm Ages 8-18 Library Program room Are you a Disney expert? Do you think you have what it takes to beat the reining Scene-it champion? Then come by the library where we will have snacks and a good time playing this classic family game. Bonus points to participants who come dressed to impress in their best Disney outfit. Game starts at 3:45 pm. Registration preferred, but walk-ins are always welcome!

Teen Advisory CommitteeWednesday July 13 6:00-7:45 pm Library Program Room An assembly of youth coming together to express their opinions and provide ideas to strengthen programming and fundraising within the Petawawa Public Library’s youth department and the community. We are currently looking for members to join in on the Fall and Winter fundraising activities such as the haunted house, and Christmas cheer! Did I mention you get volunteer hours. Movie Night: Bill and Ted Excellent Adventure Wednesday July 20 5:45-7:45 pm Ages 8-18 Library Program Room Our non-heinous heroes Bill S. Preston, and Ted “Theodore” Logan are in danger of flunking history…a most odious proposition! But when the righteous Rufus arrives in a time-travelling phone booth, the dense dudes discover their destiny…and call on the past’s biggest names for help! PLEASE NOTE: Movie starts at 6:00 pm, pizza and drinks will be served. Registration is preferred, but walk-ins are welcome.

Water Games Saturday July 30 1:30-2:30 pm Ages 8-18 Outside We are playing kickball with a twist. The bases are loaded...not with people, but with pools of water! This games needs two teams of 8-10 players to run successfully. Please wear appropriate attire that you are willing to get wet and dirty. Join in on the epic fun this summer time game has to offer. Registration is required.
