Pocket Library Curbside Service
The Cranbury Public Library has a new temporary home we are calling the Pocket Library. The Pocket Library will serve the community until our permanent home is build at the end of Park Place West. On November 3rd we will begin moving books and furniture into the first floor of the old Oddfellow Hall at 30 North Main Street. Curbside service will begin there on November 9. (See the hours below.) All the library staff is anxious to get into the new space and begin work there.
I want to thank the Cranbury Historical and Preservation Society for allowing us to use the History Center for Curbside Service these last few weeks. We will continue to provide curbside service from there until we are up and running in the Pocket Library on November 9th. We were happy to use this space to be able to get books out to the community.
With the move to the Pocket Library will have have all of our collection available, including DVDs. If you are interested in receiving items using curbside pickup you may place a request in one of four ways:
Access your account online and place reserve(s).
Text or leave a voice mail at 609-642-9675.
Email the library with your request(s) at reference@cranburypubliclibrary.orgThis is also the way to request new books that aren’t in our catalog yet.
After November 9th we will have phone service again and you will be able to speak directly with staff members during our open hours. Watch our website for the new phone number.
The staff will work to fill your requests and call or text you to set up an appointment for pickup.
As before, all items are to be returned in the bookdrop which will be relocated to the Pocket Library on November 8th. You are welcome to place McCaffrey's receipts in an envelope and deposit those in the bookdrop as well.
The Pocket Library will continue with only curbside service and shorter hours until we are fully organized in the new space. I will monitor the COVID situation, and if circumstances permit, I hope to eventually allow small numbers of the public into the building. Until then, we will see you outside the building.
