The Call of the Shore — Through March 9. Artist: Cherie Piatt. If you grow up in rural Indiana, you must travel a bit to get to the beach, ANY beach. Perhaps that explains Cherie’s passion for the water and everything in and around it. Moving to Chicago’s North Shore a few years ago, buying a sailboat, and living just a few miles from Lake Michigan has been the realization of at least part of her childhood dreams. Another dream has also come true—the opportunity to create watercolors of the seascapes and landscapes she finds so inspirational. Close your eyes, leave winter behind, and imagine the soothing sound of the waves on a sultry summer day.
