The HoldoversFollows a curmudgeonly instructor at a New England prep school who is forced to remain on campus during Christmas break to babysit the handful of students with nowhere to go. Eventually he forms an unlikely bond with one of them--a damaged, brainy troublemaker--and with the school's head cook, who has just lost a son in Vietnam. Jane: Circulation Department "The Holdovers is a bittersweet yet uplifting drama powered by three outstanding performances. I loved that it was set in the 70's with the corresponding soundtrack. This film was nominated for five Academy awards, including best picture."

Maria: Discovery Works "This visually stunning film is the first fully painted feature film and was created by artists who painted over 65,000 frames on 1,000 canvases. The story follows the last days of Vincent van Gogh, the people who knew him at the time, and the events that did (or may have) taken place, leading up to his death. The film raises the question, "Did Van Gogh commit suicide or was he murdered?" If you love Van Gogh, art, history, or mystery, this film is a good choice for you."

Moonrise KingdomSet in the 1960s New England, two twelve-year-olds from a small town fall in love and run away together and a search party forms to look for them. Carolyn: Public Services Associate "As is typical for Wes Anderson films, a warm-tinted lens colors the entire film leaving you feeling like you are witnessing something that is taking place somewhere that is...not quite here. A pair of young folks fall in love, and run away, leaving chaos in their wake. As the town scrambles to find them, hijinks ensue. As quirky and funny as it is heartfelt."

Lady BirdSeventeen-year-old Lady Bird McPherson struggles to balance the challenges of her last year of high school with her family relationships. Laura: Adult Services "I loved this heartwarming coming-of-age movie for its realistic script, smart dialogue, and relatable characters. Lady Bird definitely deserves all of its awards and accolades."
