James strongly recommends that we consider car pooling. There is only a small lot immediately behind the library off of Miller Rd. Visitors are welcome to park in the spots along the side facing the Presbyterian Church in the 83 South St. spots (there are signs marking the 83 South St spots). Visitors can also park around the Vail Mansion pool and their parking garage. The Vail Mansion parking garage is .50c an hour non event nights and there is a $5.00 flat rate on event nights that begins at 4 p.m. For more detail on this parking see this link. Patrons can also park at metered spots on Miller Rd. (from South St. to Maple St.) and South St. for 2 hours for .25 each half hour. There is no parking on Miller beyond Maple but patrons can park on MacCulloch until 8 p.m. If you would like to carpool from Bernards Township Library please plan to meet in the lower parking lot off Lindbergh Lane no later than 6:05pm. We'll match up riders and drivers on the spot and send the cars off when they are full.

James Lewis has been helping people with their genealogical research for over 13 years, beginning his library career at the New Jersey Historical Society (5.5 years), moving on to the Charles F. Cummings New Jersey Information Center at Newark Public Library for nearly 7 years and joining the Morristown-MorrisTownship Library staff in April 2013. His maternal Great Aunt was a genealogist and documented the family history of her mother's side of the family well before the Internet. He has a B.A. with a focus on American History, and a Masters of Library and Information Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Special appreciation to those . . .
. . . who bring along cookies or other goodies to share and those who assist in setting up and clearing away at our meetings. Stephanie is very frequently in the kitchen, and I always smile to see others as well. Your contribution at that time is particularly helpful as it allows me to wrap things up with the presenter and/or other participants and not face the cleanup alone afterwards, and IS noticed and valued, even when I don't say Thank You in person or in public. We relax and enjoy learning with new and old friends with something to nibble on and our coffee or tea.
