"How Do I handle All of these DNA Matches?" Tuesday, May 30 with Dave Marr and Russ Worthington Have you had your DNA tested, maybe by more than one company, and got some results but not sure what to do with them? Were you intrigued by what Dave Marr had to report at the February FHIG meeting about his success with taking his results and comparing them with those of possible relatives? Register for this special hands-on session in the Library Technology Center. Seating is limited.

Did you want to try for yourself some of the resources I showed at the 5/23/2017 FHIG meeting? - Fold3 Library Edition, the newest resource at BTL, is licensed for use by anybody in the Library and for from home or office use by Bernards Township Library cardholders. The training videos we watched are available in the Fold3 Training Center, linked on the rolling slides on the right hand side of the page, and from the HELP link on the top bar. As of this writing it still requires that you register and establish a FREE AncestryAcademy login, but we hope to see that change soon.
- MyHeritage is available from the same page on the Library website, available to all in the Library and from home or office for anyone with a card from one of the M.A.I.N. (Morris Automated Information Network) libraries. The new 'Card Catalog' feature we were looking for during the presentation is actually called "Collection Catalog' and linked at the top of the Categories on the right hand side of the homescreen.
- HeritageQuest Online is licensed for use by anybody in the Library and for from home or office use by Bernards Township Library cardholders. Distinctive features of HeritageQuest include a large collection of City Directories, the Dollarhide guide to census maps and forms, etc., and a large collection of photos from the Library of Congress.
- Sadly I misspoke when describing HeritageQuest as the source of the PERiodicals Source Index (PERSI) - it's now part of www.FindMyPast.com. PERSI contains over 2.7 million journal record entries from thousands of historical, genealogical and ethnic publications, making it an invaluable, comprehensive family history resource. Searching and simple registration are free but there may be a charge for images of full articles.
- Ancestry Library Edition is licensed for 'in-Library' use only. Once found, records can be sent via email for saving at home. Alternatively you may wish to use your own computer in the Library, logged in on the Library's wireless network, and save items directly.
I hope you will explore these resources and come back to FHIG to tell us about the genealogical gems you found. Happy searching! Ruth
