Get one-on-one tech help from our teen volunteers! Bring your own laptop, device or gadget or use one of our computers. Help is available Monday-Friday from 3:00-5:00 PM and Saturdays from 1:00-3:00 PM. Calling All Poets - Anthology submissions due March 7th
|

It's almost National Poetry Month! To commemorate National Poetry Month, Bernards Township Library in conjunction with the Raritan Valley Federation of Libraries will publish its 2nd annual Poetry Month Celebration Anthology.
This year's theme will be "Our Town" commemorating the 75th anniversary of the play by Thornton Wilder. This can be used as an inspiration, but is not a required poem subject. One pair of tickets to "Our Town" by Thornton Wilder at the George Street Playhouse will go to the poet who best uses the "Our Town" theme.
Poets whose work is chosen for the Anthology will be invited to read at our Poetry Celebration scheduled for Thurs. April 24 at 7 p.m.
Submission forms are available online or at the reference desk. Deadline for submissions is March 7, 2014 - Limit two (2) poems per individual
- Poems, accompanied by the submission form, must be typed in Microsoft Word and emailed as an attachment to BernardsTownshipLibrary@gmail.com or dropped off at the circulation desk.
- Maximum length for each poem is one page using Times New Roman font, size 12, single spaced. Longer poems will not be included.
- One poem per page please, with the poem's title at the top of the page and the author's name at the bottom of the page.

Spring 2014 Leisure Learning begins Monday March 17th! We are pleased to announce that Leisure Learning is once again open to residents of any community! The Spring 2014 session of Leisure Learning runs from March 17th - May 5th This continuing education program offers adults eight Mondays of morning lectures in art, music, literature, history, politics, and current affairs, as well as eight afternoon musical performances. Registrants can attend three of the many program choices offered each Monday for the entire eight week semester. Fees $25 for Bernards Township residents and $75 for non-residents. Hiking & Backpacking in New Jersey

Jack Donohue, local naturalist and experienced backpacker, will discuss hiking fundamentals, including how to prepare for the trail, where to purchase gear, where to hike locally, and which webpages, books and DVDs provide the best advice. Handouts and a slide show will be included. Jack, who is planning to complete the Appalachian Trail this summer, with a 400 mile hike in New Hampshire & Maine, will show you the gear he will be taking with him!
