.... bring along cookies or other goodies to share and those who assist in setting up and clearing away at our meetings. Your contribution at that time is particularly helpful as it allows me to wrap things up with the presenter and/or other participants and not face the cleanup alone afterwards, and IS noticed and valued, even when I don't say Thank You in person or in public. We relax and enjoy learning with new and old friends with something to nibble on and our coffee or tea.

It appears that this July newsletter never got to you all - user error! I've been somewhat distracted by issues relating to the construction at the Library and sadly didn't hit the SEND button. My sincere apologies! Do hope I'll see you on Tuesday anyway . . . The Family History Interest Group (FHIG) at Bernards Township Library aims to inspire and encourage you as you seek to learn about the life, loves and relationships of past family members. This newsletter is the place to find information about upcoming and past FHIG meetings, news and notes about related topics, and ideas, tips and suggestions for your own genealogy searches. -- Ruth

Tuesday, July 26 with Join in as we SHOW off items that have helped uncover our family history story, TELL about techniques that have proved particularly useful, or ASK a question that has been niggling and get some experienced help. Come prepared to talk (for no more than 3 minutes please) about the item you've brought to show, the things you've found useful, or the question you've been anxious to ask. Prefer just to listen? That's OK too. Please come! Those who are new to genealogy research are welcome, as are those with some experience. In the past, Roundtable Meetings have offered a wealth of information and awareness of various things that will assist your family history search. Don't miss this chance to share with and learn from other FHIG participants.

When There Is . . . or Isn't . . . a Will! Judy Russell mentioned some very helpful websites for information about past laws in a number of states where your ancestors may have lived, died and left records. Try these links as appropriate: New Jersey: New Jersey State Library http://www.njstatelib.org/research_library/legal_resources/historical_laws/

The first lot of usage statistics for MyHeritage Library Edition came in and Bernards Township Library users were in the lead. Clearly a good number of you took advantage of the tips you heard from Russ Worthington at the April FHIG meeting. We'd love some feedback from you. - Have you had some success using MyHeritage Library Edition?
- How easy did you find it to use?
- If there were things that were unclear or tricky for you,or just didn't seem to work please try and describe them.
- Would you be interested in additional training opportunities or hints on how to use this rich genealogy resource?
- Did you break down any "brick walls" or find information that you haven't found anywhere else?
Answer these questions in an email to Russ at hrworth@gmail.com and he will compile the feedback to pass along to me and to MyHeritage staff. Many thanks!

A richly informative article in the latest issue of American Ancestors, the membership magazine of The New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS). The article is only available to member subscribers but a one-hour webinar by the author Rhonda R. McClure is available on You Tube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcRPsUVKwLk Perhaps you'll enjoy that?
