.... bring along cookies or other goodies to share and those who assist in setting up and clearing away at our meetings. John F. and Pat and Al B. helped at the last couple of meetings in 2014. Your contribution at that time is particularly helpful as it allows me to wrap things up with the presenter and/or other participants and not face the cleanup alone afterwards, and IS noticed and valued, even when I don't say Thank You in person or in public. We relax and enjoy learning with new and old friends with something to nibble on and our coffee or tea.

Tuesday, January 27 YOUR turn to talk, or bring something to Show and Tell. Take a look through your family history materials and identify something that particularly intrigued you, or that you were especially satisfied to find. Do you have hint, technique or resource you've found especially helpful? As long as you can tell the tale, and/or show off the item in just about three minutes or less, it's the right kind of thing to bring to the roundtable. Newer to genealogy and have a question? This is a perfect time to ask the group. Traditionally one of our most popular meetings, the roundtable discussion gives each of YOU a chance to share your successes, talk about how you handle the organizational challenges of genealogy research, or get some help with a brickwall you're facing. Come prepared to share your experiences and innovative solutions, ask questions, show and tell, or just listen. I can't wait to hear what you have to share. — Ruth L

Genealogy Roadshow is underway again, with the second episode of the new season shown earlier this week. Have you been watching? This week’s episode was videotaped at the St. Louis Central Library and featured several interesting stories. Hosts Kenyatta D. Berry, Joshua Taylor and Mary Tedesco worked with guests in St. Louis to prove and disprove family stories handed down over the years and to make new discoveries for the guests. Mark your calendar for next week’s episode of Genealogy Roadshow to be broadcast from Philadelphia on January 27. Check your local listings for the time and channel near you. Make a plan to record it or get home promptly after FHIG to watch it live!
