Intro to British Genealogy Research with Melissa A. Johnson, Professional Genealogist, Writer & Editor Learn how to research your British ancestors using both the wealth of information available on the Internet, and on-site resources in the UK. Genealogy research has long been a popular hobby in the UK and many resources have been transcribed by volunteers and made available digitally. Melissa will cover the history of vital records and census record-keeping in the various parts of the UK, including where these records can be found today. Additionally she'll review immigration and emigration documents, military records, wills, criminal records and government data - any of which may hold vital clues to your family story.

Special Appreciation to Those . . .
. . . who bring along cookies or other goodies to share and those who assist in setting up and clearing away at our meetings. Stephanie is very frequently in the kitchen, and I always smile to see others as well. Your contribution at that time is particularly helpful as it allows me to wrap things up with the presenter and/or other participants and not face the cleanup alone afterwards, and IS noticed and valued, even when I don't say Thank You in person or in public. We relax and enjoy learning with new and old friends with something to nibble on and our coffee or tea. |
