LEGO CLUB Friday, August 29th from 4:00 to 5:00 pm in the Story Room Kids age 5 and up, join other LEGO enthusiasts and create unique LEGO designs. LEGOs and fun provided. No registration.

FAMILY MOVIE SING-ALONG Friday, August 15th from 10:00 to 11:30 am in Meeting Room A/B Families are invited to journey under the sea in this interactive movie viewing. Join an underwater princess and her friends as they help her meet a human prince. Free popcorn. No registration.

TEEN MOVIE RELEASE PARTY Saturday, August 9th from 6:30 to 10:30 pm Teens age 13 to 18 are invited to this after-hours party. We will show a movie based on a popular teen book trilogy. The movie tells the story of Tris and her life in a world divided by virtue-based factions. Besides the movie, enjoy faction-themed activities, food and prizes. Bring a friend and have some fun! TEEN BOOK CLUB Wednesday, August 27th at 2:30 pm in the Urbandale High School Media Center and at 6:30 pm in the library ICN Room. Teens age 13 and up are invited to attend the first book club of the 2014-15 school year. The teen book club meets every six weeks at two times in two different venues. Pick up your copy of Paper Towns by John Green at either venue and start reading! Questions – email trohe@urbandale.org

TUESDAY NIGHT MOVIE Tuesday, August 26th at 6:00pm in the ICN Room This month we’ll check out a 1958 Alfred Hitchcock classic about a retired San Francisco detective suffering from acrophobia. He investigates the strange activities of an old friend’s wife, all the while becoming dangerously obsessed with her. (Not rated/128 min.). Free popcorn! *The Tuesday Night Movie is for age 17 & up only. Doors open at 5:30 pm.

BOOK CLUBS BOOKED FOR DINNERNext meeting: Tuesday, August 12th at 6:00 pm in Chapters Cafe Discussing: The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman An exciting book club that mixes good food, good books, and good conversation! Booked for Dinner meets on the second Tuesday of each month from 6 to 7:00 pm in Chapter’s Cafe. Menu items can be ordered in advance from Mustard’s Restaurant or regular Chapters’ menu items can be ordered on site.ON THE SAME PAGENext meeting: Wednesday, August 20th at 7:30 pm in the Conference Room Discussing: The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown On the Same Page, the evening book discussion group, meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:30 pm in the library Conference Room. BROWN BAG BOOK CLUBNext meetings: Tuesday, August 26th & Thursday, August 28th at 12:00 pm Discussing: The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer The Brown Bag Book Club meets at lunch time from noon to 1:00 pm on the last Tuesday of the month in the library Conference Room and the last Thursday of the month in Meeting Room A of the library.
