Friday, June 10th at 10:30 AM & 11:15 AM in Meeting Room A/B Get set to kick off your summer reading adventure by joining Dan Wardell from Iowa Public Television (IPTV). Dan is always energetic and super entertaining. All ages welcome! Bike Safety & Bike Parade with the Urbandale Police Dept.Tuesday, June 14th at 7:00 PM in the police dept. parking lot Kids age 3 & up are invited to join the Urbandale Police for a Flag Day bike parade on the trail! They will learn about bike safety, get to decorate their bikes and helmets, and get some fun free stuff! Hanson Jugglers - 2 SHOWS! Friday, June 17th at 10:00 AM & 11:15 AM in Meeting Room A/B Watch juggling clubs fly and unicycles roll. Listen to super-duper ideas on how to turn anything into fun. All ages welcome! Ben's Bubble Show - 3 SHOWS!Thursday, June 23rd at 7:00 PM in Meeting Room A/B & Friday, June 24th at 10:00 AM and 11:15 AM in Meeting Room A/B Enjoy art, science, and a touch of magic as Ben creates bubble sculptures and demonstrates sleight of hand. Movie Night Thursday, May 26th at 6:00 PM in the ICN Classroom This month we'll be showing a 2015 drama based on a true story about an accomplished pathologist who uncovers the truth about brain damage in football players who suffer repeated head injuries in the course of normal play. Teen Book Club Open HouseMonday, June 6th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Parents and teens can kick-start the summer by joining Kayla for an informational open house. Teen Book Club (TBC) Monday, June 13th at 6:30 PM in the ICN Room Join Kayla for a discussion of this month's book, Bellweather Rhapsody. Participants receive a free copy of the book. The Art of Collage Wednesday, June 15th from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Express yourself with the intricate art of collage. Art therapist Sam Erwin will guide participants age 13 years and older in creating their own, personal collages. Materials provided. Mindfulness, Moving on to Meditation Wednesday, June 29th at 6:30 PM Participants age 13 years and up will practice focusing on the present moment, while acknowledging and accepting their feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. From mindfulness, instructor Sam Erwin will show the different ways to meditate.

Minecraft Mania Mondays (June 6, 13, 20, & 27) from 4:00 to 5:30 pm Kids age 8 to 12 years are encouraged to test their Minecraft skills on the Youth Services computers and with console games. No registration. Chess Club Wednesdays (June 8, 15, 22, & 29) from 4:00 to 5:00 PM Kids age 10 and up can get some hands-on, chess experience. Whether you’re a newbie, an intermediate or a seasoned player, drop by the Library to share your interest in the game of chess. Magic Tree House Monday, June 20th at 7:00 PM & Thursday, June 23rd at 10:30 AM Kids age 6 to 9 years old who love the Magic Tree House books by Mary Pope Osborne can explore fascinating topics with fun activities and a craft. This month we will investigate Season of the Sandstorms. Please register for one session by calling 515-278-3945. Pick up your free copy of the book Finding Fortune by Iowa author Delia Howard, read the book, and come to the book discussion. Delia will be part of the conversation via Skype.

Family Story Time Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 AM and 10:15 AM Features stories, songs and activities and is open to youngsters ages 2 and up. Sessions last about 30 minutes. No registration. Family Story Times begin on June 7th. Toddler Time
Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:00 AM Toddler Time is for two year old children with an adult. The twenty minute session is filled with stories, music and movement. No registration. Toddler Times begin on June 6th. Book Babies Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays at 9:30 AM An introduction to literacy for children age 12 – 24 months with an adult. Participate in simple stories, activities and songs. Programs last approximately 20 minutes. No registration. Book Babies begin on June 6th. Evening Family Story Time Tuesday evenings (June 7, 14, 21, & 28) at 7:00 PM Youngsters age two and up may come in their pajamas, if you like, for stories and fun. No registration. No evening Family Story Time on Tuesday, June 14th.
