Coffee Master Seminar Thursday, September 21st at 6:00 PM Calling all coffee drinkers and those who want to learn more about coffee! Starbucks Coffee Masters will teach the audience how to conduct a coffee tasting and will offer 3-4 different coffees and foods. You will also learn about the history of coffee, how it is farmed, and the importance of geography and agriculture in coffee farming. There is no charge to attend, no registration. Thursday, September 28th at 6:00 PM Come see Stories We Tell, a film that excavates layers of myth and memory to find the elusive truth at the core of a family of storytellers. (PG-13/108 min.) For age 17 & up. Adult Recreational Chess Saturdays from 1:00 to 4:00 PM The library offers an adult recreational chess club for people of all skill levels, even beginners! This is your chance to learn the game, play the game, and meet other people interested in the game. Chess sets provided, or bring your own. Adult Coloring Wednesdays from 9:30 to 11:30 AM Adult drop-in program - Join other adults who are participating in the relaxing hobby of coloring. Colored pencils, pens, and coloring sheets provided. Active Adults Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 AM Adult drop-in program - We'll provide crafts, puzzles, games, and more - all you have to do is show up and choose your activity! Registration encouraged. Teen WriteUP Monday, September 18th at 6:00 PM Are you an aspiring writer? This is the group for you! Hear from a professional, test your material on your peers, brainstorm, or just practice your craft.Teens are welcome to bring in original work for anonymous peer review at our Writers' Roundtable; typed is preferred. This month's activities are centered on the pre-writing process. Registration encouraged. NEW! Teen Chess Club Every Sunday, 2:00 - 4:00 PM Calling young chess enthusiasts! Join other teens grades 7 through 12 at this drop-in chess program. All skill levels welcome! Bring your own chess set or use one of ours.

Starting with Scratch for Tweens Wednesdays starting September 13th at 6:00 PM Tweens grades 5-8 will learn the basics of computer science and programming as they work with Scratch to create and share digital stories. Activities will include basic keyboarding and problem solving. No prior knowledge is necessary but projects are cumulative, so please plan on attending each week. Spark Club Wednesdays starting September 6th at 6:00 PMThis is robotics for all skill levels! Kids grades 2-4 will explore basic coding and robotics with Sphero in this 8-week class. Each week will include a brief lesson in coding concepts and a chance to get hands-on with robots. Activities may include basic reading, fine motor skills, and problem solving. Homeschool Hour of CodeTuesday, September 12th at 1:00 PM Kids grades K-12 will learn about computer science and coding with Star Wars, Frozen, and Minecraft. The Hour of Code is a global movement to introduce kids to computer science and coding initiated by Computer Science Week and Code.org. No experience is necessary and we'll have YouthCode here to provide support, encouragement, and expertise! This program is a great introduction for all ages. After-School Art Friday, September 15th at 4:00 PM Get hands-on with art exploration. 30-minute workshop will unleash your creativity and inspire the artist in everyone with process-driven art projects! Indoor Family Camp-In Friday, September 22nd at 6:30 PM Join us for a 90-minute, after-hours adventure for the whole family! At our Indoor Family Camp-In, we'll share stories and s'mores, build a blanket fort, and play some camping games. Don't forget to bring your own blankets, pillows, and flashlights. Book Babies -Mondays and Tuesdays at 9:00 AM -Saturday, September 9 & 23 at 9:30 AM Bounce, sing, shake, and play with us at this “can’t sit still” story time! We’ll have 20-30 minutes of interactive programming, followed by an unstructured playtime where children and caregivers can interact with their peers! Toddler Time Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:00 AM This short-attention span story time is perfect for toddlers. We’ll share short books, rhymes, and music for approximately 20 minutes. Family Story Time -Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 AM and 10:15 AM -Tuesdays at 7:00 PM -Saturday, September 9th & 23rd at 10:30 AM Join us for 30 minutes of stories and other fun activities designed to build early literacy skills.
