Invest Better! Thursday, April 20th at 6:30 PM Our Resolutions Solutions program for April will provide you with the opportunity to learn how to maximize your investments. You will be educated on how to use the database, Value Line, and other library resources to research potential investments. Topics include BetterInvesting methodology, familiarizing yourself with a company, and learning how much research is necessary.This program will be presented by Charlotte Hurley, Volunteer/Director of the Heartland Chapter of BetterInvesting, which is a non-profit organization with 65 years of service to individual investors and investment clubs. Resume Writing Wednesday, April 26th at 2:00 PM Resume Writing: Creating a Visual Hierarchy. Learn how to create a “Visual Hierarchy” of relevant skills that has been proven to make resumes stand out and gain the attention of employers. - Develop techniques for tailoring your resume to specific job postings
- Call attention to your most valuable skills with strategic organization
- Highlight key accomplishments instead of simply listing basic responsibilities
Movie Night Thursday, April 27th at 6:00 PM Come see Purple Rain, the 1984 award winning classic starring Prince. This movie is about a young musician’s struggles as his fame begins to rise. (R/131 min.). For age 17 & up. Adult Recreational Chess Saturdays from 9:30 to 11:30 AM The library is now offering an adult recreational chess club for people of all skill levels, even beginners! This is your chance to learn the game, play the game, and meet other people interested in the game. Chess sets provided, or bring your own. Adult Coloring Wednesdays from 9:30 to 11:30 AM Adult drop-in program - Join other adults who are participating in the relaxing hobby of coloring. Colored pencils, pens, and coloring sheets provided. Active Adults Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 AM Adult drop-in program - We'll provide crafts, puzzles, games, and more - all you have to do is show up and choose your activity! Teen Tech Drop-in Thursday, April 6th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Teens are invited to drop in for Sphero challenges, videogame design, and 3D printing pens. We’ll have people on hand to give tips, but the only limits are your creativity! Teen Book Club Monday, April 10th at 6:30 PM High school students age 13-18 are invited to read and discuss All Fall Down by Ally Carter. Please contact the library if you need to borrow a copy. Mission: Spy School Thursday, April 13th at 6:00 PM Do you have what it takes to be a secret agent? Training begins promptly at 6PM with a story and code-breaking, followed by a top-secret mission/scavenger hunt. This program is for grades K-3. Siblings welcome. Adults should plan on attending and assisting! Please register online. Hour of Code Tuesday, April 18th at 5:00 PM Anyone can learn the basics of computer coding, and now’s your chance. Kids in 3rd through 6th grades can join us for an hour long exploration of programming, and walk away with a new skill! No experience or knowledge necessary, just bring a desire to learn! Space is limited so please register online. DIA! (Diversity in Action) Saturday, April 29th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Join us for a special celebration of culture, crafts, kids, and reading! We have special presenters here to share a slice of their culture. We’ll kick off the event with a special presentation about Mexico from a CultureALL Ambassador followed by a Spanish Story Time at 10:30 AM. Then at 11AM, join us to learn all about Vietnam from another CultureALL Ambassador. All ages welcome! LEGO Club Friday, April 28th from 4:00 to 5:00 pm Kids age 5 and up, join other LEGO enthusiasts and create unique LEGO designs. LEGOs and fun provided. No registration. Game On! Wednesdays from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Kids age 8 and up are invited to get their game-on! We’ll have cards, board games, and chess for players of all skill levels! Come learn a new game, teach us one of your favorites, and hang out together! Whether you’re a newbie, an intermediate or a seasoned player, drop by the library! Minecraft Mondays from 4:00 to 5:30 pm Kids of all ages are encouraged to test their Minecraft skills on the computers in the children's area and with console games. No registration.

Munchkin Meetup Thursday, April 6th and 20th from 3:00 - 4:00 PM This drop-in program will include a number of stations for preschool age kids with a range of abilities including toys, sensory and active play, art, and even a little bit of science. Science Sleuths Thursday, April 20th at 11:00 AM This 30 minute program is recommended for age 3-6. Small sleuths accompanied by an adult will be exploring food science. Please register each month. Aspiring Artists Thursday, April 27th at 11:00 AM Preschool children, accompanied by their adult, can explore art with an art activity and craft inspired by Marc Chagall. Recommended for age 3-6. Book Babies Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays at 9:00 AM & on Saturday, April 8th & 22nd at 9:30 AM Bounce, sing, shake, and play with us at this “can’t sit still” story time! We’ll have 20-30 minutes of interactive programming, followed by an unstructured playtime where children and caregivers can interact with their peers! Toddler TimeMondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays at 10:00 AM This short-attention span story time is perfect for toddlers. We’ll share short books, rhymes, and music in the first thirty minutes, followed by a chance to stay and play! Evening Family Story Time Tuesday evenings at 7:00 PM Children of all ages may come in their pajamas, if you like, for stories and fun. Family Story Time Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 AM and 10:15 AM & on Saturday, April 8th & 22nd at 10:30 AM Features stories, songs, and activities and is open to all ages. Sessions last about 30 minutes.
