Special Event: Astronomy Night

Telescopes in Space and other Astronomical Wonders Wednesday, July 24 | 2 - 3 PM Let's find out how a telescope works, and why we put them in space. Kid can also learn about the Apollo landing sites on the moon and other interesting space facts. Suggested for kids in K-6th grades. Guest speaker: Jerelyn Ramirez, President of the Kansas Astronomical Observers.

Cowpoke Storytime with Cowboy Ron Wilson Wednesday, July 25 | 11 - 11:30 AM Enjoy some rollicking good tales with us at the library this morning! Ron Wilson lives on his Flint HIlls family farm and ranch, and writes and performs Cowboy Poetry. He will entertain us with some lively storybooks and fascinating facts just in time for the National Day of the Cowboy celebration at Flint Hills Discover Center on Saturday, and the Riley County Fair this weekend. Young cowpokes are welcome to come with their hats and boots on if they wish.

Chess Club / Game Night Tuesdays | 6 - 8 PM Tuesday night is game night! Meet in the Tami Borck Storytime Room to play board games and chess. K-State Chess Club members may be available to mentor chess players some weeks. Come and go. Suggested for kids, teens and families.

Yack and Yarn Early Birds Every Monday | 1:30-3:30 PM Yack and Yarn Night Owls Every Tuesday | 6-8 PM Bring your knitting, crocheting, or other crafting project to the library and relax with other crafters. This program is open to all fiber crafters, regardless of their skill level.

Galaxy Watercolor Bookmarks: Adult Craft Night Friday, July 18 at 7 PM Tara will lead us in the creation of Galaxy Watercolor Bookmarks, which fits nicely into the summer reading theme: "A Universe of Stories." All the necessary supplies will be provided, free of charge.
