Diabetes: Better Care for a Better Life Saturdays at 10 a.m., June 3rd through July 8th Lakewood Branch The Lakewood Library and Dallas Area Agency on Aging are partnering to provide a Diabetes Self-Management Workshop for seniors with diabetes. Based on Stanford University's widely-tested Chronic Disease and Diabetes Self Management program, this free course is comprised of six two and 1/2 hour sessions and will help you understand and take constructive steps to manage your diabetes in a positive way.

Citizenship Classes Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 5:30-7:35 p.m., Prepare for your naturalization exam with this 13-week citizenship class class presented by Catholic Charities of Dallas! You will need to bring your Legal Resident Card (Green Card) to register for class. There is a $30 fee, which will include your book. No childcare will be provided during class sessions. (This class will be conducted in English. Citizenship classes in Spanish will begin on August 31st at the North Oak Cliff branch. Clases de ciudadanía en español comenzarán el 31 de agosto, en la Biblioteca North Oak Cliff.)

In “Every Heart,” when young girls pass through magic portals to alternate worlds, parents send their returning children to a special boarding school --where everything is not as it seems.
Join us Wednesday, June 7th at 6:30 p.m. for a creative book discussion on "Every Heart A Doorway" by Seanan McGuire. We will combine the discussion with art-making based on themes from the book. Art supplies will be provided!
