Me before youby Jojo MoyesEnjoyed the read. A friend recommended the sequels but insisted to start with the first book. A young man becomes disabled by an accident. His family hires a young local girl as a companion for six months. The story expands when she discovers why it is for just six months. This book ends just after the six months ends. I recommend it. Shirley, Goodness and Mercyby Debbie MacomberThree angels, Shirley, Goodness and Mercy, intervene in the life of Greg Bennett. Greg is a man who has made many mistakes and hurt many people in his quest to make his winery the best. After his vines are destroyed by disease, in desperation he stumbles into a church and mutters a prayer. This is a nice little Christmas story about forgiveness and healing. Submitted by Eileen

Lowcountry Bombshellby Susan M. BoyerLiz Talbot is a private Investigator who is asked to a bombshell of a case. A Marilyn Monroe doppelganger enlists her services to protect her for she fears she will be killed on the 50th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's death. Not only is she the spitting image of the star but the life she has lived has lived parallels the life of the dead movie star. Liz enlists the help of her brother who is the police chief as well as ell as Calista a childhood friend who is only visible to Liz. Calista shows up in all the books as the guardian ghost of Stella Maris the town she grew up in. Not only does the Marilyn Monroe look a like have a suspicious group of characters in her life, but Liz has some personal choices in her own life to address in her own life. This is a great series of books. This is the second in the series. The first is Low Country Boil. All have the charm of the South and the intrigues of a good mystery! Submitted by Ann

Alaskan Holiday : A Novelby Debbie MacomberJosie takes a job at a lodge in a remote area of Alaska for 6 months before beginning what she thinks is a dream job in her home town of Seattle. While working in Ponder, Alaska she meets Palmer who is a master swordsmith and an older but friendly Jack, who supplies all the fish and game for the lodge where Josie is working. She misses the last ferry leaving Ponder at seasons end and tries to find a way back to Seattle, which she eventually makes. In between Josie and Palmer fall in love and he asks her to marry him but she says she can't. As with most Macomber stories they meet up in Seattle where Josie isn't happy with the 'dream' job and quits. You'll have to read this short book to find out if Josie and Palmer return to Ponder. Do they get married? Will Josie's Mom get married again to someone she's met while on a vacation? Jack sure hopes Josie returns to Ponder. He misses her cooking. Submitted by Judy

The Confessions of Young Neroby Margaret GeorgeI loved this book! It is written in 1st person as if Nero is telling the story. I have heard of gods and goddesses from mythology, but this book made them seem like real people. It was very well written and included a lot of historical details and imagery that made me visualize Greek lifestyle, architecture and food of the time period. Submitted by Mary
