SAVE THE DATE: Classic Book Club Tuesday, June 8, 7:00pm “Classic” books are classic for a reason – their literary excellence transcends passing fads, and they continue to engage readers generation after generation. If there are classics you have always meant to read “someday,” or if you read them in school before you were ready to appreciate them, now is the time to enjoy them with other adult readers. This month we're reading The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway.

This mac and cheese is so, so good! When I was growing up mac and cheese was a side dish in my family, often accompanied by meatloaf and baked beans. I know for many of you, mac and cheese is the meal. Well, this recipe will take that plain old dish right over the top. Just serve with a side salad and dinner is complete. My husband and I like it with just the tomatoes with mild green chilies and not the extra spices. You can adjust to your liking. This also freezes well, but after just one bite, you will not want to freeze it! Click here for the recipe!

Grown Upsby Marian KeyesThey're a glamorous family, the Caseys. Johnny Casey, his two brothers Ed and Liam, their beautiful, talented wives and all their kids spend a lot of time together--birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, weekends away. And they're a happy family. Johnny's wife, Jessie--who has the most money--insists on it. Under the surface, though, conditions are murkier. While some people clash, other people like each other far too much... Still, everything manages to stay under control--that is, until Ed's wife, Cara, gets a concussion and can't keep her thoughts or opinions to herself. One careless remark at Johnny's birthday party, with the entire family present, and Cara starts spilling all their secrets. As everything unravels, each of the adults finds themselves wondering if it's--finally--the time to grow up. Selected by Stephanie, Reference Librarian
