The 18th Abductionby James Patterson The 18th Abduction had its usual cliff hanger endings and well known characters in the Woman's Murder Club series. It was unusual in that it is the first time Lindsay Boxer and her husband Joe Molinari who is an FBI agent worked together to unravel the case. Lindsay is called to an elite prep school to investigate the disappearance of three female teachers. The case has already turned up with one teacher murdered. Joe Molinari, her husband and FBI agent is working on a case involving a woman from Serbia who survived the atrocities of ethic cleansing. The woman has spotted one of these Serbian war criminals living only a few blocks from her home. He has assumed a new identity but he recognizes her. She is very afraid and turns to Joe for help. Does the disappearance of the three teachers in any way connect to the Serbian war criminal? Submitted by Ann

Susannah Charleson pours her heart into the pages as she describes stories from her childhood that explain why she is so drawn to helping animals. She offers detailed insight into how to search for a lost pet while she tells us the story of Ace, a Maltese-Poodle cross. When we first meet Ace, he's someone's lost dog who wound up in a shelter in desperate shape. Under the author's care, he gets his health and spirit back, and he eventually trains to find other missing pets as a MAR (Missing Animal Response) dog. The story is beautifully written with great storytelling and moments of gentle humor. I would highly recommend to anyone who loves animals. Submitted by Reyna

Ellery Adams's A Deadly Cliche was another book in her Oyster Bay book Writer series. The main character Olivia Limoges is strolling along the beach with her dog Haviland. Soon Haviland makes a gruesome discovery. A man's corpse is sticking out of the sand with a bucket in his hand and a clue that is a cliche. Chief Rawlings is called to investigate and soon several more corpses turn up dead posed in unusual positions with cliche clues attached. Chief Rawlings is very adept at getting the local townspeople to be his eyes and ears. As Olivia and the locals begin to find the commonalities these victims share, the clues lead to a startling conclusion. Read more of Ellery Adams to find out if Chief Rawlings and Olivia's relationship heats up. I always enjoy the characters even though the plot is a little weak. Submitted by Ann

The Lost Yearsby Mary Higgins ClarkThis suspenseful story is about the murder of Jonathan Lyons, a Biblical scholar who believes he has found a letter written by Christ to Joseph of Arimathea. The police believe Jonathan's wife, Kathleen, did it because she was found in a closet with the gun. But Kathleen has dementia and cannot give a clear statement about what happened. Jonathan's and Kathleen's daughter, Mariah, believes the killer is someone in her father's circle of friends-someone who did not want the valuable parchment returned to the Vatican Library. As Mariah sets out to prove her mother is innocent, she puts herself in danger. Submitted by Eileen

Every Breathby Nicholas SparksI had a little bit of a problem with focus in the beginning of the book but once it got into the storyline of the two principle characters together I enjoyed the story. You root for their relationship. And long to know if it ultimately succeeds or ends in disappointment and heart ache. Overall I enjoyed this book. Submitted by Elizabeth

Auntie Mame : An Irreverent Escapadeby Patrick Dennis I grew up listening to the soundtrack of the Broadway version on Mame, so I liked this right off the bat. This story is funny and moves along quickly. You do have to get past the bits of racism and sexism that is shocking to hear in today’s world, but was unfortunately more accepted at the time it was written. I enjoyed reading it. Heat Stormby Richard CastleNikki Heat discovers her Mother, she thought died 17 years ago is in fact alive and being hunted by the same group that wanted her dead. CIA Agent Derrick Storm is on a hunt of his own trying to take down a Chinese group of businessmen making counterfeit $20's. Nikki and Derrick cross paths and are on the hunt for the same 'bad' guys. Meanwhile Nikki's husband, P-Prize winner Jameson Rook is unaware of the goings on until his wife finally lets him in on what's going on. Many chases and gun battles along with twisted plots makes this a fast read. The ending will have you on the edge of your seat. Submitted by Judy
