Film Screening: The Theory of Everything Thursday March 19 at 7:00 p.m. James Marsh's biopic of the celebrated scientist Stephen Hawking, The Theory of Everything, stars Eddie Redmayne as the famous figure. Enrolled as a graduate student at Cambridge, Hawking establishes himself as one of the leading minds of his generation, and begins to win the heart of Jane (Felicity Jones). After one of his earliest breakthroughs, Hawking is diagnosed with ALS, and he becomes less and less able to control his own body. The public is invited to stay for a brief discussion after the film. Happy Bookers Discussion: Orange Is the New Black by Piper Kerman Wednesday March 25 at 7:00 p.m. This nonfiction work follows the author's incarceration for drug trafficking, during which she gained a unique perspective on the criminal justice system and met a varied community of women living under exceptional circumstances. It has been fictionalized for television, but this book gives the real story, while remaining quite entertaining. Multiple copies of the book are available for reserve.
