Model Train Demonstration Wednesday, January 11th 10:30am - 1:30pm Drop-In All ages are welcome to stop by the Children's Room to see an amazing display of model trains. Come learn about the history of model trains from two train enthusiasts.

Puppet Pros Wednesday, January 11th 6 - 7 pm Children in Grades K-2 Registration Required Come check-out our brand-new, once-a-month literacy & art program for kids in Grades K-2. Each month, kids will listen to themed stories and create a puppet. January’s theme is: NINJAS! Young grasshoppers can register for this month’s Puppet Pros online or in the Children’s Room. Space is limited to 15 children; registration will continue until the program is filled.

Rooster Readers Thursday, January 12th 6 - 7 pm Children in Grades 3-5 Registration Required Join our monthly book discussion group for kids in Grades 3-5. Registration for this program is ongoing. Please bring your library card when registering; attendance is limited to 15 children. The book choice for January is Ellie's Story.The book will be available for checkout when you register for the program. The book will be due back on the night of the book discussion group.

Friends & Family First Aid Program Saturday, January 28th 2pm - 4:30pm Registration Required Want to learn CPR but do not need a CPR course completion card to meet a job requirement? This free course is ideal for new parents, grandparents, caregivers and others interested in learning how to save a life. Space is limited to 10 adult participants. Register online beginning on Saturday, January 14th.

Paws to Read Thursday, January 19th 5:30 pm-6:30 pm Drop In Readers age 12 and under Want to brush up on your reading skills and love dogs? Practice with a therapy dog who loves to listen to stories! This is a drop-in program, no registration required. Children will have a 15 minute one-on-one reading session. Please note, this program is for children who are reading on their own. All volunteer teams are from Windwalker Pet Therapy.

Block Party! Every Saturday, January 7th - May 20th 10 am - 1 pm Drop In All Ages Join the fun in the Children’s Room every Saturday from January 7th through May 20th from 10 am to 1 pm. Through the generosity of the Friends of the Library, we are able to offer a wider variety of new building toys such as Magna-Tiles, Magz Bricks, and KAPLA blocks. All ages are welcome!

Minecraft Club for Kids First Tuesday of Every Month: Next session: Tuesday, February 7th. 5:15pm - 6:15pm Grades 2-5 Register Online Space is limited. We provide laptops, accounts, and a secure server environment in which to explore and create! Registration for each session is separate and opens individually. Registration for February's Minecraft Session will open Tuesday, January 3rd at 6:15 pm.

Tween Time Wednesday, January 25th 6pm-7pm Ages 9-12 Register OnlineCome join other 9-12 year-olds for fun with friends! This month our program is "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" Team up for a new twist on this fun game. Can you prove once and for all that you are smarter than a 5th grader? Online registration required.

Winter Storytime at the Cumberland Public Library The Winter Storytime Session begins on Monday, January 9th. This session ends on Wednesday, February 22nd.
All storytimes are drop-in, no registration required! Babies and Books Storytime Mondays, January 9 - February 13 at 10 am* Birth through 23 months Connect with your baby through stories, rhymes, and songs, followed by a play time. *There will be no Storytime on Monday, January 16th or Monday, February 20th (the library will be closed for MLK Day and President's Day, respectively.) Starlight Storytime Mondays, January 9 - February 13 at 6:30 pm All Ages For children of all ages and their families. Listen to some stories, sing some songs, and have fun!
